
Moving Spaces
When moving to a new space, we need to ensure the process is smooth and energising. The perception of auspiciousness of a space can be influence by the events happening during the move. This is why a good moving date is chosen for this important activity.
There are 2 types of moving:
- Personal space
- Working space
There are some key elements for both types of moving that are same, we shall understand this first.
- Fire. Fire is prepared in a stove to represent purification of everything that crosses it.
- Coins. Coins from different countries to be rolled into usher in abundance and income from them.
- Oranges. The word orange has a meaning of gold in the mandarin language. To roll in gold is to bring abundance and wealth.
- Pineapple. To symbolise luck and prosperity rolling into the space. It is also represented by the mandarin word.
- Rice Pot. This represents food and luck. There are 2 scenarios that the client need to choose:
- If the client wants to have fresh and a new beginning, then the rice pot should be filled with a few cups of raw uncooked grains of rice. This pot will be cooked at the new space during the moving process.
- If the client wants to bring forward his luck and continue with his success, then the rice pot needs to be cooked at the current space, and brought over to the new space, and kept warm for consumption after the moving process.
- Clothing. Represent the members of household or office staff.
- For home, clothing of each member need to be prepared if this person is not attending the event.
- For office, the staff should be present to celebrate this joyous occasion.
- Pillow or Working Equipment.
- For home, the pillow represents the place of rest, recovery, and wellbeing.
- For office, working equipment represent productivity, motivation, and goodwill.
- Sweet Desserts. Represent the condition of happiness and sweet conversation. When the dessert is shared during the moving, it represents the relationship and bond as everyone working together moving into this new space. The sweetness of the dessert represents the sweetness of words said now and in the future.
Method
- Arrive early at the new place based on the date selected for moving into the space. Do not open or unlock the main door.
- Prepare the stove with charcoal and light the fire. Fire is only considered ready when the charcoal is amber and not flaming.
- When it’s (Fire) ready, the client shall step over the fire, unlock the main door, and proceed into the space. Switching on all the lights, then coming back to the door. crossing the fire again as you exit the space.
- All items from this point must cross over the fire to be purified.
- The first item to enter the space is the coins. Everyone has some coins in their had and together roll them into the space.
- Orange – can be done by the whole group or one individual.
- Pineapple - can be done by the whole group or one individual.
- Rice pot – brought directly to the kitchen and kept warm. At this point light up the kitchen stove of the space. To start this fire means to start life in the home.
- People attending or their clothing.
- Pillow or working equipment.
- Once all the above are in its place, the ritual is almost done. the final step is to bring in the charcoal stove from the main door into a space inside the home or office. When this fire enter it represent the meaning of starting activities.
- Lastly have the sweet dessert and some food with the rice that is kept warm.
- The process is completed.
